The Conduit 3DS Confirmed, Nintendo 3DS Sales and Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions
http://nintendo3dsblog.com The Conduit 3DS Confirmed, Nintendo 3DS Sales and Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions *** Transcript Hey guys, David here from nintendo 3ds blog dot com with just a few quick stories about the 3DS. Amazon has posted the best-selling gaming hardware for January and the Nintendo 3DS is managed to slide in at fourth and fifth place. Only losing out to the Wii, Xbox 360 (with Kinect) and the PS3. In that order. The Aqua version of the 3DS is the better selling colour at the moment, but I'm on Team Cosmo myself, and I think we've got some fight left in us. And I've mentioned it a couple of times so far, but The Conduit is finally confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. It was practically confirmed before, but High Voltage has now flat-out said they're working on the game and will probably show off an early build at GDC, which kicks off on February 28th. High Voltage are also happy with the changes Nintendo has made with friend codes for the 3DS and hope it will enable a "true multiplayer shooter experience on the handheld." We also have our first look at Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions, which rearranges a couple of classic games for the 3DS. Pac-Man Tilt is the first half of the package. It gives Pac-Man arms and legs and turns the game into a side-scrolling action title. There's enemies, and running, and jumping and all that good stuff. And you can tilt your 3DS to change the angle of the stage within the game, sort of how LocoRoco works. The other half of the package is Galaga 3D Impact, based on the original top-down space shooter, Galaga. But this re-imagined version is no longer a top-down shooter, but a full on 3D experience. Players are put into a cock-pit of a space ship and are able to physically move around their environment to take-out enemies. So, if an enemy is above you in a a game you would aim your 3DS towards the roof and start unleashing hell. Neither game looks like they'll win any graphical awards any time soon, but they're both centred around interesting ideas, so I'm still keen to see them in action. Anyways, that's it for now.
