The reason you need an SSD inside your MacBook Pro (with benchmarks).
This is a discussion and demonstration outlining the everyday performance of the Intel X25-M G2 when paired with a MacBook Pro. This video includes a real-time benchmark of the drive using Xbench. This discussion also includes some insight into the process of turning a Macbook Pro into a dual hard drive machine. This is achieved through removing the stock optical drive and replacing it with a 9.5mm adapter. I am currently running a 17" MacBook Pro 2.8GHz / 4GB RAM / 80GB Intel G2 SSD / 500GB 5400RPM Hitachi / Nvidia GeForce 9600m. This video was recorded using ScreenFlow with a Samson Go Mic.
