Prewar TV Early 1939 Television by RCA Victor, working Radio
Pictures of my TRK-5 TV/radio combination and TT-5 "Television Attachment," both made by RCA Victor in 1939
THE SONG CLIP YOU HEAR IS ONLY TO DEMONSTRATE THE AUDIO OF THE RADIO
You can see the TV fired up and working by searching Early Prewar TV, 1939 Television by RCA Victor, working TV
You can read more about it and see photos of it and its "family" (other prewar TVs) at http //www.earlytelevision.org/rca.html
The TT-5 to the left is essentially the same TV chassis as the TRK-5 console. It was attached to a radio (like the one to the left of it or a console radio) to play the sound. This particular TRK-5 was used in New York City and the TT-5 Table-top TV was used in Los Angeles. It even has the call signs penciled on the chassis of the 2 Los Angeles TV stations that operated during World War II. They were Don Lee's station and Paramount's station today they are KCBS and KTLA.
