Samsung to Cancel Blu-ray Player

04 Oct, 2007, 1:21 pm IST | Siddharth Bhatia | Blu-ray Players

Samsung has some pullback news, among all the other developments. The company's Blu-ray offering, the BDP-2400, has been canceled outright.

The company has not commented on why the product was canceled, nor offered any explanation for the decision to postpone the launch of its combo player.

LG is the only other manufacturer that currently has a combo disc player – the BH100, which has playback capability for Blu-ray, HD-DVD, and DVD movies.

Samsung had originally planned to release the BDP-2400, as well as its combo player, next month. The launch date of the combo player, which will be Samsung's first, has now been pushed to December.
